Welcome!
This blog is about one little family living in the Pacific Northwest. Our little Baby Emma is the newest addition to our family of four; she was born in January 2014.
In April 2009, we bought an old fixer-upper of a house in Seattle and we’re slowly whipping it into shape. We built a garden shed with a living roof. Besides house projects, we enjoy exploring our fair city, and taking a few more adventurous trips every now and again.
I am the blogger/photographer. My husband, son, and daughter serve as a never-ending supply of blog fodder.
I’ve lived in every West Coast state with the exception of Hawaii: born and raised in Washington, college in Oregon, a brief stint in Alaska after graduation, and then five years in Southern California before moving north to Seattle again in 2008. It’s home.
I’ve worked as a zoo keeper and an environmental scientist. Now I’m trying my hand at being a mom. Some days are more successful than others.
I’m terribly absent-minded, have a crazy case of wanderlust, and surprisingly, love being a mother. It’s such a grand adventure.
Chris is, and always will be, an Alaskan at heart. That was one of the first things I was told about him when I spied him across the room at a college rowing team meeting. “Oh, the transfer student? He’s from Alaska”. That was back in 2002 and we’ve been together ever since. We try to head north at least once a year so he can get his AK fix.
Today he works for a major investment firm in Seattle. Chris is a hiker, bicycler, and all-around handyman.
Our tyke arrived in January 2011 and is currently perfecting his talking, running, and jumping skills. This kid never sits still. He is your typical three year old: stubborn, hilarious, and always, always up to mischief. We love him to bits.
This sweet girl has just recently joined us. She is a calm and happy baby and we look forward to seeing her grow; already she is an essential part of our family.
