Sorry that it’s taken me so long to get you the results of our little baby poll.
First, I have to tell you about the little debacle that happened at the hospital. Emma was born 20 minutes after our arrival at the birth center; thus the poor nurses and midwife were having to scramble to get the room ready.
She arrived at 1:30am and was weighed at 7 pounds, 4 ounces. This was right in line with Ben’s weight which was 7 pounds 1 ounce.
But ten hours later (and after three dirty diapers), she weighed in at 7 pounds 14 ounces. Babies, especially immediately after their birth, don’t gain weight.
So clearly there was a bit of an ‘oops’ with the first measurement. But given the hectic delivery and the
But that leads us to the mystery: What was her real weight at birth? The doctors are guessing anywhere from 8 pounds to 8.5 pounds but we’ll never really know and her weight will be officially listed as 7 pound 4 ounces.
