My Dears,
How is 2013 for you so far?!
I have no complaints although I’m thrilled that our preschool has started up again; we were all going a little batty around here:
Today we braved the occasional snow flurry and icy winds to go commune with the gorillas at the zoo.
Zoos are depressing places during the winter months; all the poor beasties are dreaming of their warm, tropical [non-snowy] homelands. Did you catch the Seattle Times series on the elephants at Woodland Park Zoo?
Chris and I adore those “How Things Are Made” videos. I don’t love this one: How Hot Dogs are Made.
Why camera angles are critical. [thanks Jennie]
Polar Bear rattles cage of cameraman. [film] Holy smokes. This would seriously freak me out. As they say in the video: "Polar bears are one of the few animals that regard people as prey"...And this one is hungry.
Oh my, one [incredible] last gift: Fatally ill, and Making herself the lesson.
Ben has been practicing his ‘round and round’ aka turning in a circle. He makes me dizzy just watching him.
The other night Chris and I rented Touching The Void, about two buddies that decide to scale a peak in Peru. The recreations are a bit overly dramatic but the story is riveting. Watch the trailer here.
And lastly, letters to God. Hilarious.
Here are a few favorites:
