A little door follow-up

There was a bit if stain left over from our door job a few weeks ago so this morning I grabbed a rag and did a little touch up work on the trim. A previous pup or kitty had put a number of scratches in the door and frame. It wasn't a big deal as they weren't deep but replacing the trim entirely would be a costly option, as it would have to be specially milled. Plus it's mahogany so that drives up the price.

The scratches are still visible but perhaps aren't quite so obvious. Honestly, stuff like that is part of a house's character. One of the challenges we face as owners of an old house is updating the living spaces without destroying everything that makes the house unique. We don't always get it right but we're doing our best.

I just hope it looks good when we are finished!
