Weekend on Whidbey

My Dears,

Last weekend all of Chris’ siblings were in town and we spent a fabulous two days out on Whidbey Island in the San Juans. Great company, lots of food, spectacular views - it was a wonderful weekend. This was our second time staying at the Harbor Hideaway rental house and we loved it even better the second time around. Which may have been due exclusively to the hot tub that was just installed!

Here are a few pictures from our trip:

We took a few extended walks around Whidbey, including this old military installation from WWII.

The gang: Megan, Chris, Benjamin, Alex (behind Chris), Katherine, and Greg
 Checking out the gun mounts
Snug as a bug in a rug
Megan doing a bit of climbing.
Oh! Did I tell you that we brought the Beast?! He loved this vacation. Deer, squirrel, and cat chasing made for one very, very happy camper.
Katherine and Megan racing down the bluff
 Chris and our little bear
 Big Pup and Baby Pup

Greg and Katherine just got back from their honeymoon in Puerta Vallarta. Hopefully the Pacific Northwest’s soggy weather helped prepare them for the SNOW that greeted them upon their arrival in Alaska.

Did you hear that it’s supposed to snow here in Seattle this evening? Ugh. Puerta Vallarta is sounding really good right about now.

The view from the house into Holmes Harbor
Did I mention that it’s a beachfront house? Bailey was in heaven.
I took the two Bs (Bailey and Benjamin) for a stroll on our last morning
Walking down to scout out the water

 Our little happy bear
We found a jellyfish! I thought it was insanely cool that you could look through the jellyfish to see the rocks and barnacles below. Neither Benjamin nor Bailey were impressed by this revelation.
And that, my Dears, was our weekend. This weekend we’re planning on doing some trim installation and then we’re going to finish putting the new siding on the garage. Exciting stuff, I tell you.
