My Dears,
I'm adding another product to my "most essential baby items" list. It's concentrated liquid vitamin D (for breastfed babies). Doctors recommend 400 IU daily for infants; trying to get Benjamin to swallow an entire dropper of our previous brand was a losing proposition. The Carlson stuff is super concentrated and an entire dose consists of a single drop; much more manageable for that squirmy babe. I usually pop it in his mouth while he's on the table for his first diaper change of the day. I heard someone mention the other day that the dosages for older children was increasing but not sure what the current recommendations are. Anybody know? (update: it's recommended that babies older than one receive 600 IU/day).
