This definitely does not qualify as something that would appeal to me (I get the heebie jeebies from poor viz dives) but check out this article about a team from the Center for Wooden Boats and the exploratory work they're doing beneath the surface of Lake Union. Talk about a fascinating peek into seattle's maritime history.
