- Got a bagel at H & H Bagels on upper west side. When I ordered I said, "I'll have the snakes on a PLAIN." He did not laugh. Tough crowd.

On a random note, the escaped snake escapade reminds me of the time in first grade that the school's pet snake escaped and made its way into the nearby gerbil cage. It didn't end well for our poor gerbils. The snake was easy to find though: the two gerbil lumps made it impossible to squeeze back out through the cage bars…
