[If your name is Bailey]
Various events and general lollygagging on our part have conspired against us so that our kitchen remodel has been pushed back by about six months.
We have a lot on our plate, at this particular moment.
But, our kitchen floor was in really bad shape; there was no way that it could wait half a year for the attention it so desperately deserved.
So over the Christmas holiday, Chris and his dad zoomed over to our local big box store and toted home a few packages of laminate squares. Peel off the backing, stick it down on the floor, stomp on it a few times, and PRESTO! New Floor!!
We now have a floor that is free of gaping holes, jagged cracks, and crevices that were amazingly adept at catching crumbs, liquids, and your general assortment of miscellaneous spilled kitchen substances.
It’ll definitely hold up until we get around to the full scale kitchen redo and decide what type of permanent flooring to install in the space. Not surprisingly, Bailey is petitioning for something with built-in heating capabilities.
Don’t hold your breath on that one, Bubba.
