Since we've been back from Alaska, Chris and I have been busy little bees on the home improvement front.
Project O' the Weekend: Removal of very old carpet from the stairway.
I actually happen to like carpeted stairs but this lovely yellow/brown specimen was looking a bit past its prime.
Chris (and his faithful helper) started at the bottom
And worked their way up. I followed along behind, removing the pad and the zillion staples.
The stair treads have a few nicks and dings, not surprising for a home of this age, but we're happy to have the carpet gone and the pretty wood shining in its place. The wood floors in this house are thick and of good quality so refinishing them shouldn't be a problem later on down the road.
