I decided a few weeks back that my coop setup wasn't pefect. I had installed their perch immediately adjacent to the door. Evidently chickens don't like drafts, instead preferring to bed down in the far corner.
They're a picky bunch.
Additionally, when researching nesting boxes, I neglected to identify the reason behind the slanted roof feature.
Mine, sadly, had a flat roof. Ideal for chickens to stand on.
And poop on. Lots o' poop.
So yesterday I broke out the power tools and modified the box.
Nice pointy roof.
I also constructed a formal perch...
..that is not next to the door.
Well, it's further from the door. We'll see if it's any better.
