I spent most of my time visiting various Smithsonian museums and the memorials located within the National Mall. By far, my favorite museum was the National History Museum. It was excellent. They have a splendid bug and butterfly section, my second favorite area of the museum.

I'd just like to state for the record that I am insanely jealous of the Smithsonian's insect collection (see photo, above). I can only imagine the thousands of specimens that are stored in those drawers.
