Nooooo! They're going to close my elementary school! Way back when little Sonja was attending 1st grade at Montlake Elementary School (1987ish), there was a proposal to shutter the school permanently and move kids to another location. Montlake had a particularly vocal and committed group of parents that were able to stave off the school closure in favor of putting some other poor school up for sale. Unfortunately, school districts are perpetually are underfunded and dear little Montlake is once again on the block.
