I used to think that having dirty hands was bad. I envied those that always maintained those perfectly manicured nails with the white, white tips. But then I realized that those lovely people often miss out on some really great activities. For example, there is the slightly scuffed area from the pottery wheel, the bum finger from field work, and the dirt under the nails from digging around in the garden. Fun stuff. Of course, they could use a good scrubbing with soap and water. And a wire brush.
