Thursday officially qualified as a Bad Day (Note caps) in the life of yours truly. I don't have very many Bad Days. I can distinctly recall two Bad Days back in the Fall of 2002 (my senior year of college), but since then, things have been pretty much smooth sailing, with the exception of a couple bumps here and there. Until Thursday. Thursday started out fantastically well and continued to progress quite smoothly until approximately 6 pm. I was driving home from the Valley after a long day shuttling between three site visits in Orange County and some field work up in the San Fernando Valey when I got in a car accident. This is my second car accident but the first one that officially qualified as my fault (along with another guy). I was involved in a fender bender on the freeway. It caused a six inch long scratch on the fender of the car in front of me as well as a couple puncture marks from my license plate holder. My truck wasn't injured (and neither were any of the human participants). But the whole situation still stinks and I was pretty bummed out for the rest of the day. I hadn't counted on feeling so shaken by a relatively minor accident. On the bright side, it's wonderful to have such supportive family members (husband, mom, dad) who came through with flying colors when words of encouragement, love, and advice were greatly appreciated.
So yeah, that was my Bad Day. Thankfully, my company has a holiday on Good Friday (yesterday) so I have a three day weekend to recuperate and put this unfortunate incident behind me.
