Our book club is currently reading "The Last Town on Earth" by Thomas Mullen. It's a fictional account of the 1918 Spanish Flu that swept the country (and world), killing mostly healthy adults and sparing infants and the elderly. Current estimates put the number of deaths between 50 and 100 million. The Spanish Flu doesn't get a lot of air play in this day and age so since we're reading a book on the pandemic and because I went home sick today, I recommend doing a little extra reading.
