This weekend we flew up to Seattle to visit family. I got to spend some time with my parents and grandparents and we both got to see Greg and Megan who are newly arrived in the Pacific Northwest.
We were also picking up my dad’s 1965 BMW motorcycle which has been sitting in various garages for the past 20 years. This is a delightful old motorbike that has a very colorful history. My papa spent five months in the 1970s touring around Central and South America on this bike. It survived many grand adventures only to become rather rusty and corroded in its old age. Chris decided that this would be a grand “fixer upper” project and so we embarked on a road trip back down to Southern California with the bike stuffed into the back of a minivan. Actually, getting it into the van wasn’t so difficult since most of it is literally in bits and pieces. This is truly going to be quite the project!
We also got to have breakfast with Melissa and Britney in Sacramento. My visits with Meliss are always too short and far between but it was great to see her again.
