Southern California is awash with the coolest insects. The other day this guy landed on Chris' swim trunks. It looks very similar to the green fig beetle that we used to have at the zoo. They guy is about an inch long and half an inch wide. He buzzed us earlier and he sounded like a mini WWII airplane flying by. I didn't have the heart to add him to my collection.
