The joys of living in Southern California.
Yesterday I was visiting two job sites in LA County and I also had to drop off some sketches for a client in east Orange County. In total, I drove approximately 70 miles. In the process, I traveled on EIGHT freeways to get to my destination! In Seattle you have two freeways: I-5 and I-405 and the two floating bridges. Los Angeles is slightly different. I started out from the office on the 91 (Riverside Freeway), transferred to the 57 freeway which merges into highway 22. This puts you on the 405 freeway near Westminster and Garden Grove. I dropped off my sketches and headed out the job site in Carson (LA County) via the 405 and surface roads. Leaving the job site I traveled on the 91 freeway to the 710 (Long Beach Freeway) which connects to the 105 (east to west) which intersects the 605 freeway. I went to the second job site (and was followed around by a stray dog for two hours) and then got on the I-5 (Santa Ana Freeway) for the trip home. That also included a jaunt on the 91 freeway as well. And I had to take the 55 freeway to get home. We need a prius.
